The Lookout is the restaurant at our hotel in El Castillo. We cook with what's fresh from the farm and the neighbors, pour something cold at the bar, and let the valley do the rest.
Come for dinner, stay for the sunset — and say hi to the goats on your way in.

Our namesake
Mist rolling over the hills, a volcano on a clear day, rainbows after the afternoon showers. Grab a seat on the deck and watch the weather put on a show.
From the farm
Our goat farm sits right here on the property. Little ones love meeting the babies, and everyone leaves with a photo or two.
Eat & drink
Farm to table, from breakfast to dinner: goat cheese made fresh on our farm, pesto from basil picked in our garden, tilapia caught daily at a local farm — plus Costa Rican classics, steaks off the grill, fresh seafood and a cozy bar.
Starting at 6:30am · fresh from the farm, served with a view
Each kids’ breakfast comes with milk, water or a small fruit juice.
Sides $2–5 (bacon, sausage, tortillas or sweet plantains, fruit plate, house potatoes) · Drinks cappuccino, latte, espresso, smoothie of the day, mimosa, Bloody Mary.
Also on the menu: soups, sandwiches & burgers (fries or yucca fries), chicken plates, more seafood, pasta, sides $5–7, and kids’ meals (all $10).
Bar: cold beer, shot flights, Tajín-rim micheladas and house cocktails.

After dark
When the sun goes down, the string lights come on. Pull up a chair on the deck, order another round, and stay a while.
